2007 मध्ये पोर्तुगालमधील लिस्बन येथे सात आधुनिक आश्चर्यांची संपूर्ण यादी जाहीर करण्यात आली. भारतातील ताजमहाल, चीनची ग्रेट वॉल, ब्राझीलचा ख्रिस्त द रिडीमर पुतळा, पेरूचा माचू पिचू, जॉर्डनचा पेट्रा, इटलीचा कोलोसियम आणि मेक्सिकोचा चिचेन इत्झा हे जगातील अपडेटेड सात आधुनिक आश्चर्यांमध्ये आहेत. मात्र, अजूनही अशी काही ठिकाणे आहेत जी पाहिल्यानंतर अद्भूत मानवी कौशल्याची झलक देतात.
